My name is René Schrauwen and I’m a Network and Computer Systems Administrator in The Netherlands.
Since April 2016 working as a RMA at NFOrce Entertainment.
Beside my interests in IT I’m also very interested in Pro Audio. I hope some day I can combine them both in my career.
This blog is called Blouder.com (pronounce as “be – louder”) which is a very contradicting name for a blog that fights against the “loudness war”, which is one of the main purposes of this blog.
As a result of the “loudness war” many (young) people don’t now how music should sound anymore, because its almost three decades ago music sounded as music (meaning the recording and mastering quality of a particular song).
Its a shame that a lot of youngsters like the sound of a heavily compressed song which leaves no room for dynamics.
The only thing they care about is how hard the song will blast out of their mobile devices !
The sound quality of today’s mobile devices is of that order that you won’t hear the difference between a good or bad recording. Maybe I’m spoiled, maybe I’m not. I can like a good recording even I dislike the singer or song. The opposite is also true, I won’t play a good song sounding like shit. More of this in this artcle and my future posts.
One other purpose of this blog is to challenge myself to combine my IT and Pro Audio knowlegde and share it with other people.
The simple standard layout of this blog is chosen by me on purpose to gain maximum readability on mobile devices.
I’ll try to post my IT and Pro Audio related projects/tests/reviews/HowTos on a regular basis.
Thanks for visiting. Feel free to leave a comment and say hi.
